THE ORIGIN OF FRANCESCA

A tribute to where it all began, our Origin Collection celebrates the birthplace and home of Francesca.  A heart-shaped island at the bottom of Australia, Tasmania is a place of wild beauty, a cultural hub and a foodie’s paradise! From the hustle and bustle of Salamanca Market (where Franc started), to the magnificence of Mona, there’s no limit of things to do and see in Tasmania.  So to help you plan your trip, we asked our Franc HQ team to share some of their favourite things about the island state.

Co-owner, designer and resident photographer, Rachel knows how and where to take a good photo!

Best view in Tasmania?

I love a good photography mission on the weekends when I get a spare day! I recently headed down to remarkable caves and loved the pics I took there as well as everything along the way.

Take that perfect Insta pic..

Photography & coffee are my two loves in life and there just happens to be a super cute coffee van on the way at Eagle Hawk neck - Cubed Espresso - a photo there with a coffee in hand overlooking the view is definitely gram worthy! If I head up north to Binalong Bay I find it hard not to whip my camera out along the East Coast drive up there with the rocks covered in fluro orange "stuff" lol contrasted with the blue water!

Director & business guru, Hannah leads a hectic schedule, but when she gets down time, she certainly takes advantage of it!

That luxury weekend getaway?

I absolutely loved visiting Pumphouse Point! It was a gift to my husband and i from our bridesmaids and we had the best retreat! It is a beautiful building set out in the middle of a lake, very exclusive and the most beautiful time to visit for me was during winter when there was snow and we could sit by the fire and relax!!

A day at the spa? Why not. . . Tell us where

Best day spa experience was Quay Day Spa - their 2.5 hour package was gifted to me by staff and it was the ultimate pamper experience!!

It was a match made in heaven when Francesca joined the Franc HQ team. When she’s not listening to Justin Bieber, you’ll find her enjoying Tassie’s summer events.

Summer food babies? I mean festivals?

The Taste of Tasmania is where you'll find me in summer! I love the atmosphere! There's nothing better than sitting in the sun, watching the Sydney to Hobart yachts sail in, and eating the best food there is to offer in Tasmania!

Aside from her duties as Customer Care & Postie Queen, Meg is also a keen foodie. If she’s not cooking amazing food, she’s eating out at one of her favourite spots.

Go-to brunch spot?

My favourite brunch spot has gotta be Born in Brunswick, I love their coffee, creativity and vibe

Treat-yo’self dinner?

Templo, for their amazing seasonal menu and italian influence.

When she's not making sure everything at Francesca is running smoothly, you can find our ops manager, Kels, taking East Coast adventures!

Road trip worthy? Winery stop off?

My absolute favourite place to weekend away in Tassie would be the East Coast. The drive is nothing but beautiful and there is so much to see along the way. And I can't miss stopping off for a glass of my fave wine along the way at Milton Vineyard just past Swansea. The wine is hands down THE best in Tassie.

Our PR babe is a born networker. . . and to network you need a drink in hand, right?! Well she knows where to grab a drink!

Finish with a drink, but make it somewhere scenic

Nightime, Willing Bros in North Hobart is a gorgeous and chilled out wine bar with some super tasty snacks. If you’re looking to do some day-drinking, there’s nothing better than sitting out on the grass at Mona and sipping one (or five) wines. There’s also the bonus of some very cool art to check out.
