After a year of planning my wedding day was the most perfect day in every way.
The morning started at the beautiful Islington Hotel in South Hobart. The islington is one of the best boutique hotels in Australia and there’s no question why! They have the most amazing customer service and it really feels like a home away from home. Our glam squad arrived and we spent the day getting pampered by Matt Minol, Demelza and Jasmine from Sfumato hair and our makeup artists Claire Hunt and Liv Rodgers.
The ceremony took place at the National Trust Property, Runnymede House. The rain clouds stayed away for the whole ceremony. It was the most light-hearted yet emotional ceremony and I never thought I would cry but I did! We decided to personalise our vows with two of our bridal party reciting a verse each. It’s amazing how emotional the whole day is!
After the ceremony our guests were taken via the Red Decker Bus to Brooke Street Pier where they were taken by boat to our reception at Peppermint Bay. The bridal party (all 14 of us) drove in the Hobart Hummer to Peppermint Bay taking photos on the way via the Botanical Gardens.
The ceremony and reception styling was grey and greenery and suited my style perfectly! Verity from Verity Kingston Styling worked with me leading up to the big day and she just understood my style perfectly. She was so easy to work with and I would have been so lost without her reminding me of all the finer details I had forgotten. Kristy McDowell from Mrs. Florist also nailed the brief, creating the most amazing floral arbor and hanging installation which made the styling come together perfectly. Not to mention my delicious gluten free chocolate cake made by Nadia at Love cake Tas.
My dress was by Rachel Gilbert, and it was the first dress I tried on and it fit like a glove. I was planning on getting a dressed made but I felt so comfortable in my dress as soon as I tried it on in Luxe Hobart that my mind was made up! Our bridesmaid dresses were from Sheike online and were the perfect style for bridesmaids with different body types. They were elegant and the perfect colour for our theming!
My jewellery was designed especially for the wedding and is now featured in our bridal collection as the ‘Radcliffe Collection’. The collection features the highest quality of cubic zirconia’s in baguette and marquise cut stones and sterling silver. I am so obsessed with them still! My cuff (which i put on when i took my veil off) was a hand sewn crystal motif which we can custom make upon request for your wedding day too ! I was struggling to find the perfect pair of wedding shoes with a block heel so I didn’t sink into the grass at the ceremony and ended up designing my dream pair on the website shoes of prey. Highly recommend this!
My handsome husband and his groomsmen wore tailor made suits, bow ties and suspenders with custom made cufflinks. They scrubbed up so well!
The talented and equally beautiful Fiona Vail Photography captured our whole day in still and the inspiring team at Purple Ribbon Weddings who travelled from Melbourne for the weekend created our video. Both were unobtrusive during the day and so much fun to be around!
Everyone told me this with regard to your wedding day and it couldn’t be more true, enjoy every moment and don’t stress! Everything fell into place and it was the most beautiful and memorable days of my life surrounded by the ones we love.
